So...What Does A Social Media Manager Even Do?

Believe it or not, I get this question A LOT. Contrary to popular belief, the job of a social media manager is SO MUCH MORE than scrolling on Twitter and Instagram.

In short, a social media manager is the go-between for your company and its customers. We are responsible for maintaining a brand voice, boosting engagement with followers, and identifying new audiences to follow through acquisition efforts like paid advertising or creating sponsored content partnerships with other companies in their industry. With all of this in mind, everything we post and when we post it is strategic.

Social media managers have a pulse on all of these things at once. We need to be able to identify trends as they happen to make sure that we respond accordingly and strategically with posts or campaigns within a reasonable amount of time. A good social media manager will also help guide clients to use the best social media practices.

So as you can see, social media managers are not just mindlessly scrolling on random social media platforms. We're actively managing multiple social media platforms, creating and curating content, and using it to strategically grow our clients' brands.

As you can see, a lot goes into creating great social media content and managing the pages that you love.
